Growing the U.S. Collection Program: An Update

We’re halfway through our 2023 collection, a year where we announced some big changes to our plans for capturing imagery across the contiguous U.S. Earlier this year, we shared the exciting news of expanding our collection in many areas for 2023. Part of this expansion was increasing the ability to see more in major urban and metro areas, thereby improving visualization. What was our plan for this year? The map below showcases our urban and rural collection, with an additional urban collection added to the mix.

This enhanced collection meant that several major cities would get up to three collections a year, cities like Phoenix, AZ, where we captured a suburban development:

Our 2023 U.S. collection plan covers 118 million U.S. households, more than 93% of the population.This increased visibility helps build your knowledge and understanding of what exists on the ground with greater accuracy and confidence, helping make better decisions when it comes to reviewing policies during the underwriting process, managing claims, or evaluating risk on properties. Plus, since we publish ~100,000 images a day, the library of data you get to pull from only continues to grow.

And access to this data has never been easier. Whether you pull it from the GIC Viewer, through our APIs, WMTS, Image Services for ArcGIS, or some of our partners, there are multiple ways to view, review, and take action with our imagery and data all at the touch of a button.
