High-resolution ortho and oblique imagery (5 cm) was collected on Sunday and is now available for tornado-impacted properties across southern Michigan, stretching from Three Rivers to Leonidas and Union City. The imagery is now available in the Vexcel Platform and on select partner sites. Color-coded damage assessments for each property within this Gray Sky collection are also now available.
Our Gray Sky crew collected 5cm aerial imagery using an UltraCam Osprey sensor over tornado-impacted properties in southern Michigan, including areas near Union City. The imagery is on its way to our processing center and will be published ASAP.
Severe tornado activity struck southwest Michigan, impacting areas across Cass, St. Joseph, and Branch counties. Multiple tornadoes tracked roughly 50 to 60 miles from near Edwardsburg through Three Rivers and Union City, causing widespread structural damage and power outages.
Our Gray Sky team has activated in response. Poor weather prevented collection today. The current plan is to collect imagery of high-density tornado-impacted properties on Sunday, weather permitting.
