Vexcel’s first aerial imagery collection program in Mexico is underway. Using its market-leading UltraCam Osprey sensor, Vexcel began flights in early 2026, and imagery is available now.
The program is planned to expand to approximately 50,000 km² (20,000 sq mi) of coverage across more than 40 cities and metropolitan areas, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, and Tijuana. Once complete, the coverage will reach nearly 54% of Mexico’s population and support government, infrastructure, insurance, AI, and location intelligence applications. The program delivers a suite of high-resolution products, including:
Published at 7.5cm resolution, Oblique imagery provides views from multiple perspectives. Explore properties, buildings, infrastructure, and streetscapes from all four cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west, allowing you to virtually assess locations from your desk.
TrueOrtho aerial imagery delivers the accuracy and consistency needed to map and analyze the built environment in Mexico’s cities.
Published at 7.5cm resolution, TrueOrtho provides a sharp, accurate top-down view with no visible seamlines or parallax (building lean). It serves as a trusted foundation for property mapping, urban planning, infrastructure management, and GIS analysis.
Vexcel’s digital surface models for Mexico support building measurements, slope analysis, drainage and flood modeling, site planning, vegetation analysis, and 3D visualization.
DSM data delivers 15cm absolute vertical accuracy at up to 144 points per square meter and matches Vexcel’s TrueOrtho imagery, enabling consistent multi-layer spatial analysis in the same location.
Go beyond what the human eye can see with Color-Infrared (CIR) imagery. Captured during standard collection flights using our near-infrared (NIR) sensors, CIR imagery reveals information not visible in natural color imagery.
Multispectral imagery in Mexico helps classify vegetation, assess plant health, evaluate moisture, identify impervious surfaces, and support environmental and agricultural analysis.
Q: Does Vexcel have aerial imagery coverage for Mexico?
Yes. Vexcel launched its Mexico aerial imagery program in 2026, covering approximately 50,000 km² (~20,000 sq mi) across more than 40 cities and metropolitan areas. As of June 2026, more than 5,200 km² have already been collected.
Q: Which cities in Mexico does Vexcel cover?
Vexcel’s Mexico program includes Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Tijuana, and dozens of additional urban and metropolitan areas, collectively reaching approximately 54% of Mexico’s population.
Q: What resolution is Vexcel’s Mexico aerial imagery?
All Vexcel Mexico imagery is published at 7.5cm resolution. This is 16 times better resolution than the best commercial satellite imagery available for the country.
Q: What imagery and geospatial data products are available for Mexico?
Vexcel offers three imagery products for cities in Mexico: Oblique imagery, TrueOrtho imagery, and Multispectral (Color-Infrared) imagery. Vexcel also publishes a Digital Surface Model (DSM) with 15cm vertical accuracy and up to 144 points per square meter that matches its TrueOrtho imagery.
Q: How can I access Vexcel’s Mexico imagery?
Mexico imagery is available through the Vexcel Platform, including APIs, MCP (Model Context Protocol), Image Services for ArcGIS, and the Vexcel Viewer, as well as through select partner networks.
