Vexcel Intelligence Makes the Real World Searchable

CENTENNIAL, Colo., September 29, 2026 — Vexcel, the world’s largest aerial imagery and geospatial data program, today opened Vexcel Intelligence to customers worldwide, making its global aerial imagery library searchable using natural language.
Customers can ask questions about the physical world and get answers from Vexcel’s high-resolution aerial imagery, directly or through their own AI agents and applications. They can search for features and conditions, understand relationships, or track change over time without building traditional AI/ML models, labeling datasets, or manually reviewing imagery.

You can answer questions that once took days, months, or even years, and ask questions you never thought possible.”
Built for real world questions
Vexcel introduced the idea of a queryable world with a handful of searchable cities in January 2026. Since then, it has tested with early adopters, refined its models, built Vexcel Studio, MCP and APIs, and expanded search across its imagery library.
Now available to customers, Vexcel Intelligence understands meaning and relationships within a query to find relevant imagery beyond individual objects. The questions are nearly endless:
To understand risk in Insurance: “Find pools with safety fences.”
To improve road safety and inventory in Government: “Find frost heaves on roadways.”
To manage vegetation encroachment in Utilities: “Find trees growing near overhead power lines.”

The scale and understanding behind the search
Behind the real world search are more than 3 billion vector embeddings created from 15.1 million km² of Vexcel aerial imagery across 47 countries. These embeddings make Vexcel’s massive imagery library searchable at scale, returning matching imagery and locations ranked by relevance.
In urban areas, Vexcel adds multiple perspectives to the search. Embeddings are created from top-down ortho and 45-degree oblique imagery, with north, east, south, and west views revealing facades, infrastructure, and objects obscured from a straight-down view. In rural areas, embeddings draw from ortho imagery.
Behind it all is Vexcel’s integrated stack, from collection through intelligence. Its UltraCam sensors, global network of aircraft and collection partners, aerial imagery and data products work together to fuel Vexcel Intelligence.
More ways to work with Vexcel Intelligence
Vexcel Intelligence includes a suite of real world AI solutions. Custom Elements, launched in August, finds and segments customer-defined objects without training traditional AI/ML models. Elements provides pre-defined extracted attributes for buildings, properties, roadways, and post-disaster damage assessment.
