New API Services for Elements 2.0

This month, we’re announcing new API services for developers, featuring Elements 2.0, meant to boost usability, streamline code, clarify data calls, and bring more granular functionality to projects. Some of the key benefits of this update are outlined below.

Introducing Elements 2.0

Elements as product is one of our most popular offerings, providing critical automated insights on properties and buildings. Machine learning is applied to our high-resolution imagery and valuable attributes such as pools, trampolines, roof condition, hardscape details, and more are delivered in return for millions of properties. Its popularity is a reason why it was critical for our team to increase its usability within our API 2.0 services.

Some of the key enhancements in Elements 2.0 developers will find useful include:

  • Services tailored to the specific use case needed, whether that be for the property, structure (building), or for damage following a disaster
  • Standardized naming services for consistency and clarity focused on product-first based on use case (/property, /structure, /damage)
  • Additional actionable services based on those product-first groups, such as collections, events, tile information and more

Additional Improvements and Features

One of the top improvements in API 2.0 for Elements is the coverage services so customers can better understand where precomputed Elements data exists geographically. This is also applicable for Damage Assessment data, especially helpful in areas where multiple Gray Sky collections exist in hurricane prone or tornado alley areas.

The last items of note in Elements 2.0 include:

  • Greater clarity for on-demand Elements requests so developers understand when it’s necessary to do so
  • Easier filtering parameters with 12 standalone search parameters to make the process more straightforward and useful
  • More unified parameter language so similar requests for different products have nearly identical URLs

All the details around our Elements 2.0 services are available in the API documentation for developers found here. But if you need further help or have questions, our Customer Advocacy team is happy to provide support. Fill out the form below for more information.
